Congratulations to 2018 Outstanding Neuroscientist Award and Outstanding Young Neuroscientist Award winners!
The 2018 Outstanding Neuroscientist Award and Outstanding Young Neuroscientist Awards were presented at the 2018 ISON Annual Meeting on 17th June. Sir Colin Blakemore presented certificates to four awardees.
The Outstanding Neuroscientist Award presented to scientists who have made outstanding contributions to the field through research and other scientific achievements. Dr. Peter T.Fox, the winner of 2018 Outstanding Neuroscientist Award is recognized for his pioneering research on developing the world first neuroimaging technology - PET, to directly visualize normal people's brains' activities.
The Outstanding Young Neuroscientist Awards recognize students, postdoctorals and early-career scientists who have made significant accomplishments in the field of neuroscience. This year, we have three awardees, Dr. Yi Lei from Shenzhen University, Dr. Sachiko Kiyama from Tohoku University and Dr. Xiaomin Yue from Zhejiang University.
Dr. Yi Lei is recognized for her excellent achievement in the cognitive and neuroimaging study of category, concept and reasoning processing.
Dr. Sachiko Kiyama is recognized for her excellent achievement in the cognitive and neuroimaging study of East-Asian languages.
Dr. Xiaomin Yue is recognized for her excellent achievement in the study of the novel role of TMC proteins in regulating of resting membrane potential and cellular excitability.
